By: Alexandra Sinclair

Alexandra Sinclair’s work at once recalls joyful experiences of the natural world while , at the same time, offering an elegy to it. As the Earth’s pristine places, overwhelmed by our needs and desires, are fast being degraded or have already disappeared, she ponders the question of whether mankind is inexorably impelled along a road to its own destruction. Fate, loss and memory are among the themes she reiterates and explores through the lens of history and the mythology of the classical world.

Landscapes of the mind is a series of abstract nature paintings.

Landscape is an intensely visual concept. It can evoke though and feeling. People do not actually leave in landscapes, but they observe them.

The way I see landscape is by shapes and colours. I like to reduce the details down in my minds eye to basic forms and create something different.

I like to create something that will make people think.
